Directs and coordinates fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines and systems | Ensures that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process | Oversees installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water and steam systems | Evaluates mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency | May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
Major Position Responsibilities:- Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.
- Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Estimates workload to establish completion dates.
- Trains subordinate personnel in the various Mechanical Engineering techniques.
Basic Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a relevant function
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accociate's Degree in a technical training field preferred
