Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required; and one (1) year of experience in interventional radiology preferred.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
State of Nevada License in Radiology. Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA). May require National Certification in Vascular Imaging.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements
Knowledge of:
Procedures and protocols associated with radiation; specialized equipment used in interventional cases; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques; quality assurance and quality control measures; neuro-body disease; aseptic techniques and sterile field setup; vascular anatomy, pressures; catheter curves; rated burst pressures and compliance; personal computers; department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and computer screens, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this classification.
