These services include investigating, repairing, and rehabilitating various deteriorated or underperforming structures, as well as designing new constructed works. The typical scope of project work includes:

  • Conducting engineering investigations, analyses, and design of structures, such as deep and shallow foundations, ground improvement systems, earth retaining structures, excavation support systems, and adjacent construction.
  • Performing analyses related to soil settlement, slope stability, soil dynamics, and groundwater flow and seepage.
  • Evaluating earthen embankments, dams, reservoirs, tunnels, asphalt and concrete pavements.
  • Carrying out analyses and forensic evaluations of failed or deteriorated structures.
  • Supporting construction operations for contractors, encompassing new construction, rehabilitation, strengthening, and repair.
  • Analyzing claims in design-build projects.
Responsibilities: In this Geotechnical Engineering role, you will be entrusted with responsibilities consistent with ASCE Grade IV, which will include:
  • Defining technical tasks and proposing well-reasoned solutions, with guidance and support from your supervisor.
  • Overseeing and supervising technical work conducted by peers, technicians, graphics, operations staff, and other team members.
  • Maintaining direct communication with clients on existing projects and fostering relationships with external project team members.
  • Presenting specific aspects of technical or project work to clients and external project teams.
Qualifications: To be considered for this role, the following qualifications are necessary:
  • 4-7 years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Professional licensure is a requirement.
  • An MS or PhD with a concentration in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • The ability to integrate the expertise of multiple technical professionals into effective solutions.
  • Prior exposure to similar project types and awareness of relevant external technical resources.
