Under general supervision, performs work pertaining to document storage, retrieval, and archival of engineering documents and other related information. This process also requires reproduction of materials including construction drawings, maps, key sheets, and plans.

Supervises work within Engineering Records Section and provides training of engineering records personnel.
Utilizes document management systems, Microsoft software applications and computer file management skills to organize document storage, and archive retrieval of county documents.
Operates personal computers, scanners, printers, and other records management equipment.
Assists Bureau staff, the public and other customers of the Engineering Records Section.
Identifies, locates and reproduces records and documents for customers using digital document management systems.
Processes invoices for customer payments to Office of Budget and Finance (OBF).
Maintains records of transactions.
Verifies and enters drawing attributes into document management system.
Performs conversions of construction drawings and other documents to a digital format.
Works with agencies to repair areas of non-compliance.
Maintains files of original documents.
Coordinates and oversees the archiving of documents (on and off-site).
Serves as a liaison with the vendor for the retrieval of archived files and documents.
Checks digital images to ensure the clarity and legibility of the reproduction.
Records and processes payment transactions through the Office of Budget and Finance.
Maintains and updates customer account information and generates customer invoices.
Maintains contracts to perform minor repairs, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of records management equipment.
Upon approval, submits orders for equipment, supplies, and materials related to reproduction and operations within engineering records.
Produces reports for agency management detailing the sections operations.
Provides advice and guidance to agency management and staff regarding engineering records management related issues.

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent.

Five years' experience in records management, two years' of which involved the storage, retention, and retrieval of digital records.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of records management, including classification and coding systems.
Knowledge of digital records storage, retention, and retrieval.
Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of records management systems and equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and blueprint machines.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
