Banyan Infrastructure is experiencing exciting growth and is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to spearhead our outbound sales efforts. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, directly engaging with prospective clients to introduce them to the transformative power of our platform. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying key opportunities through strategic outreach, ultimately fueling our sales pipeline and contributing directly to our mission of accelerating sustainable investment.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing and works a hybrid weekly schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote) with the flexibility to adjust on an ad hoc basis. We will prioritize candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area who are able to come into the office regularly.
What you'll do:
Strategic Account Development: Conduct in-depth research to identify, build, and strategically prioritize lists of target accounts within your assigned market segment.
Execute Outbound Excellence: Design and implement targeted outbound campaigns utilizing multi-channel approaches, including strategic cold outreach (calls and emails) and proactive social selling and networking activities.
Qualify and Cultivate Leads: Engage in high-level, value-driven conversations with senior executives at target organizations to understand their business challenges, identify alignment with Banyan Infrastructure's solutions, and generate genuine interest.
Drive Sales Qualified Opportunities: Effectively articulate Banyan Infrastructure's value proposition and secure qualified meetings for our Sales Executives, ensuring a seamless and efficient handoff.
CRM Mastery and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities, interactions, and lead status within our CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
Market and Product Expertise: Continuously develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and the evolving needs of our target market, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of Banyan Infrastructure's product and service offerings.
Quota Attainment: Consistently achieve and exceed quarterly quotas for Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and Lead Generation teams to optimize outreach strategies and ensure a unified approach to market engagement.
What you'll need:
Proven Sales Acumen: A minimum of 1-2 years of proven work experience in a sales or business development role, with a demonstrable track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex value propositions clearly and concisely to senior-level executives.
Master Negotiator: Strong negotiation and persuasive skills with the ability to influence and build rapport with prospective clients.
Organizational Prowess: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-Starter Mentality: A proactive, self-motivated, and independent individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
CRM Proficiency: Experience utilizing CRM and email marketing systems (Salesforce experience is highly preferred) to manage leads and track activities.
Software Industry Interest: Familiarity with the software industry, SaaS business models, or prior experience selling software solutions is a significant advantage.
Outbound Expertise: Hands-on experience and comfort with executing various outbound sales techniques, including strategic cold calling and email sequencing.

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 OTE (On Target Earnings comprised of base salary and variable commission plan)
