Accountant Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing, construction, or metal/mining industries
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, debits/credits, and AP/AR
  • Experience with inventory management, ideally with knowledge of LIFO inventory accounting
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the metal and mining industry is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with bank, CPA firm and colleagues
Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory and inventory control, including monthly closeout and physical inventory tracking
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and weekly aging reports
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, debits/credits, and financial reporting
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the bank and handle bank reconciliations
  • Oversee property and casualty insurance, ensuring coverage is maintained
  • Supervise front office staff, overseeing their work and providing support as needed
  • Sign company checks and handle banking relationships
  • Make occasional collections calls and manage payroll for both office and plant staff
  • Oversee pension funds and handle 5500 filings
  • Collaborate with external CPA firm for various financial activities
