POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a senior leader within the Environmental Division to help lead our Renewables Industry Team. Ideally, this person will have very successful experience in the siting and permitting of renewable generation projects. A proven history in energy industry-related business development, leadership, and supervisory experience is required.

Summary Of Roles And Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include business development, building and maintaining renewable client relationships, tracking business development costs, and watching industry trends for opportunities. This is a high-level senior project management and project execution position with oversight and QA/QC responsibilities.

POWER is a rapidly growing company with a clear vision of how we want to grow. As a member of the POWER Environmental Leadership Team, this position is expected to help with partnering relationships and day-to-day advice and guidance for the direction of the Division.

It is not the intention of this individual to manage projects day-to-day over the long term, although initially, consistent with the strategy developed, this may be needed. Rather, this position intends to provide periodic monitoring of projects, coaching and mentoring of project managers and other staff, assistance with problem resolution including direct intervention, and periodic support to projects with direct effort during critical periods. This position is ultimately responsible for the financial performance of projects directly managed and for those under this leader’s oversight.

Renewables Marketing Responsibilities

Lead the development of a Renewables marketing plan and assist in executing the plan Identify new and existing clients for pursuit in the Renewables industry market – wind, solar, geothermal, pumped hydro storage, battery energy storage, etc Develop clients with internal members of the organization and establish initial engagements. Help to expand engagements to develop clientele and win work Develop client relationships, particularly at the senior and executive levels. Focus on key clients, as well as endeavor to have significant networks throughout the industry as a source of market information Track the status of potential projects. Identify emerging large projects and enter into CRM. Lead pursuit of selected large projects Gather information on clients’ issues, goals, and budgets and advise management and project managers Assist other divisions within POWER in marketing clients Network with contractors and subcontractors. Identify potential teaming opportunities Identify project developers and build relationships

Project Management Responsibilities

Manage large, complex projects Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams Meet or exceed client expectations Ensure the financial success of projects Manage reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and unbilled

Financial Responsibilities

Secure at least $2MM in annual project backlog Track business development costs. Ensure the reasonableness of investments Successfully manage projects for profitability

Industry Trends

Help with identifying information that should be collected and disseminated within the Company to assist in our business development Help identify industry trends and information that is important to POWER’s decision making and communicate this information internally to the relevant people

Other

Attend Environmental Division internal strategic marketing team meetings and contribute to discussion Interface with the production business unit directors, regional managers and department managers – identify their issues and support as required Identify conferences where POWER should have representation. Assist in identifying appropriate attendees, as well as attend select conferences Provide input on proposal “Go/No-Go” decisions Lead preparation of major proposals Assist in identifying potential POWER employees and assist in the recruitment process

Required Education/Experience

BS or BA in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental science degree. MS or equivalent degree is desired Minimum of ten (10) + years’ experience developing and executing business in the environmental realm with renewable developers, utilities and other related clients Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulations Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff Candidates must have a strong interest and passion to engage in activities necessary to generate business and develop new business leads in the renewable energy industry

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $125K- $160K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
