The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with a five-person elected City Commission focused on legislative and policymaking body, with day-to-day operations the responsibility of the appointed City Manager. The City of Bartow is seeking a visionary leader as its next Human Resources Director who can establish and maintain positive, trusting, and highly productive relationships and work closely with employees to build morale and support the development of an organizational team culture that provides effective and efficient public service delivery with the highest level of customer service. The Director of Human Resources is under the general supervision of the City Manager. The position is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the City’s overall Human Resource functions and programs. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field is required (master’s preferred), coupled with ten or more years of Human Resources experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies necessary for the position will be considered.
