This role will support the Assistant Director, Finance by leading our Accounts Payable, F&B data analysis, and Remote Finance team through building trust and relationships by nurturing a work culture that celebrates diversity, inclusiveness, belonging, growth and development and by inspiring colleagues to deliver heartfelt experiences for each and every guest. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service. Execute the accounting department's daily routines to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient daily work practices. Assist the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support to ensure that all of the finance colleagues are able to understand and follow the applicable Company policies and procedures. Assist in reviewing financial performance of department/area, analysis of variances, forecasts and budgets. Assist the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support with the analysis and interpretation of the financial data and its communication to the operations. Assist with and complete, as needed, the analysis of the balance sheet accounts and the preparation of the monthly internal benchmarking and operational performance analysis reports. Assist in the development and implementation of benchmarking techniques that will enable the hotel to enhance revenues while improving productivity and cost efficiencies. Assist in providing accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis to hotel management, corporate office and owners in accordance with the company and ownership reporting requirements and policy. Assist in ensuring that all laws and fiscal regulations of the area location which affect financial matters of the hotel are compliant. Assist with the safekeeping of all lease and contracts and any other legal records and documents, which may affect the financial status of the hotel. Ensure control systems are monitored and audited on a regular basis, as documented by Audit Services, to measure compliance with internal controls. Perform house bank and cash machine maintenance, replenish and reconciliation. Assisting in performing daily bank reconciliations. Assist in month-end closing and prepare monthly journal entries. Oversee month-end reconciliation tasks, accruals, account reconciliation and operational taxes. Support and assist all departments in submitting signed invoices, expense reports, and check requests into CORA/CASD. Manage the AP issue log on a daily basis. Assist in processing and cutting checks each week as well as processing the checks for mailings. Monitor Daily Revenue Report to ensure accuracy of Income Journal. Ensure daily procedure perform correctly compliant to all internal/external audit guideline. Assist in preparing and approving timesheets and payroll for the AP team. Monitor food and beverage cost on a daily basis. Audit data entered in F&B Systems daily. Investigate and resolve all data and report inquiries/discrepancies. Develop and prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and Food & Beverage forms regarding inventory control systems and Food & Beverage operations and all other ad-hoc reports. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert on complex report writing on multiple Food & Beverage information systems. Document steps on the setup of all reports, the parameters, who the report is sent to, and frequency. Collect and analyze data to maintain departmental metrics, and communicate with F&B Management to discuss and develop additional metrics. Automate metrics and create dashboard for F&B Management to discuss. Collaborating with other departments, perform monthly inventory count and prepare journal entry. Participate in the talent management activities and initiatives such as recruitment, coaching, training, and disciplinary actions. Establish strong positive relationships with clients. Assist & monitor and check monthly house accounts. Provide office administration duties as required. Follow departmental policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar role required. Leadership experience in accepted accounting practices and principles required. 3+ years progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting and/or financial reporting and/or business analysis required. University/College degree in a related discipline an asset. Demonstrated experience with accounting system or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis and presentation. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and relevant computer applications required. Proficiency in Excel. Previous Opera Cloud PMS experience preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible & reliable. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
