Previous experience working with school age children and/or university related course work. Demonstrate aptitude and/or competence working with school age children. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the supervisor in program implementation, which provides for physical activities, self-expression through arts, crafts and play, and socialization with peers. Work cooperatively with site team, Program Coordinator, school building principal and building staff to share space cooperatively. Assist in the maintenance of program equipment and supplies. Develop effective communication with the parents of children enrolled in the program. Assist in providing a safe, nurturing, child-oriented environment. Assist Supervisor and Program Coordinator in ensuring site meets DHS licensing regulations. Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
