As a Quality Manager, you're primarily responsible for working with customers across an array of industries including aerospace, defense, commercial, automotive, industrial and medical devices. It is critical that you have the ability to create and execute Advanced Product Quality Planning activities for Xometry's extensive portfolio of technologies and partner network. In this role, you will lead from the front and provide coaching and supervision for an expanding team of Quality Engineers.

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Management:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure products and processes meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
APQP specialist
  • Lead APQP activities for new product introductions.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of APQP documentation including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to ensure all APQP requirements are met.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers.
  • Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor team performance.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Supplier Quality Management:
  • Develop and manage supplier quality assurance programs.
  • Conduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices required
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
Customer Focus:
  • Address customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with product quality.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate quality risks.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
  • Experience in managing a small team.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control techniques.
  • APQP requirements of Process flows, work instructions, PFMEA, capacity studies, capability studies, tool run offs, engineering document sign offs, etc.
Other Requirements:
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
