What is an Engineering Program Manager?

As an Engineering Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of critical initiatives that are central to the company's growth and success. You will be responsible for managing and driving projects from concept to launch, ensuring that they meet objectives and achieve schedule, financial, and quality targets. You will lead assigned critical programs including new product development projects, cost reduction programs, engineering systems implementations, and acquisition integrations.Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, technical experts, and senior leadership will be essential to your success in this role.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with five years of proven experience in project management, managing project scope, budget, schedule, and constraints, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop detailed project timelines, ensuring that every stage is meticulously planned and that projects remain on schedule and within budget
  2. Ensure effective project planning including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables for assigned projects
  3. Assemble project teams and assign responsibilities, identifying and addressing resource constraints
  4. Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute projects effectively and efficiently
  5. Monitor project progress, proactively addressing issues and challenges that may impact project success
  6. Ensure that projects meet quality and performance standards
  7. Lead engineering systems implementations
  8. Lead cost reduction programs, working closely with engineering to implement cost-savings while tracking and reporting on progress
  9. Lead new product development projects from concept to market launch, collaborating with R&D, engineering and marketing teams using the stage gate process
  10. Lead acquisition integration efforts for acquired companies, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure acquisitions are well integrated to Clark-Reliance
  11. Maintain clear and transparent communication for all projects with project stakeholders
  12. Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders with project status, risks, and opportunities during project reviews
  13. Comply with policies, procedures, standards, and rules of the Company
  14. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned

Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management, managing project scope, budget, schedule, and constraints, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines in an ever-changing environment
  • Effective at managing projects using Agile development practices
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in a technical B2B manufacturing environment
  • Experience with key business tools - INFOR XA, Autodesk or similar
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (PMP)
Physical and Technical Environment
  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds. •Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment •Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator •Normal vision and manual dexterity for office duties
