Sr Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our cutting-edge operations, where we leverage state-of-the-art equipment and technology to establish and launch automotive component products.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate new customer products for manufacturing based on specifications and quality standards.
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Support the specification and launch of new equipment and processes
Develop and implement detailed process plans for precision machined components and assemblies.
Creates and maintains process routings, process drawings, CNC programs, and tooling lists.
Specify and implement work holding and cutting tools for manufacturing operations
Create and maintain process instructions (routings, work instructions, procedures…etc.)
Select, design, install, and modify equipment and fixtures for new product launches and existing products.
Develop plant layouts, work instructions, process flow layout, set‐up procedures while adhering to safety, quality and productivity procedures and policies.
Define inspection methodologies and support quality issues
Development and management of process FMEA’s and other process documentation. Troubleshooting of processes and equipment.
Provide manufacturing with tools and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production. Select, design, install, and modify equipment and fixtures for new product launches and existing products.
Lead production launch and improvement activities to support new and existing programs
Research areas for continuous improvement in all areas of the manufacturing system.
Develop standard procedures to improve manufacturing processes and to reduce overall cost.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
Train operation personnel on the execution of manufacturing methods and processes
Support Operations and Quality Departments in the resolution of manufacturing issues by providing ongoing manufacturing engineering support.
Support compliance with Supreme Machined Products Co., Inc.’s Quality policies and procedures (IATF16949 & ISO 14001).
Skills:
Communicate with customers & suppliers to understand and determine product specifications.
Communicates and interacts with all departments to achieve company goals and initiatives.
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers
Ability to apply statistical methods to troubleshoot processes and conduct root cause analysis
Ability to discuss and solve complex problems in a team setting
Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
Self-motivated with strong drive to complete tasks and projects
Understanding of GD&T
Project Management skills
Education/Work Experience Required:
BS in mechanical/manufacturing engineering
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with emphasis in precision machining environment.
5-10 years’ experience process design and development including materials, drawings, industry specifications, equipment, tooling, gaging and testing
5+ years experience with APQP, SPC, FMEA, & 8D Problem Solving
Knowledge of quality systems, including PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Process Capabilities Studies
Intimate knowledge of common machine tools including lathes, mills, mill/turn, and grinders
Experience working in a mass production environment with tight tolerances.
Experience and understanding of precision inspection methods and equipment
Critical problem-solving skills: ability to ask the right people, the right questions at the right time in the right way.
Detail-oriented: ability to be a subject matter expert to make informed decisions for a variety of cross-functional teams
Strong CAD software capabilities
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent communication and leadership skills
