General Purpose You will serve as a project leader and technical resource, directly supporting multiple powder coating lines as a critical link in a vertically integrated metal fabrication and assembly environment. While mentoring other engineering colleagues and technical operations team members, you will also work to implement projects of varying scope, making a positive impact on key business metrics. Essential Functions Maintain daily communication with operations. Makes decisions based on sound engineering and quality principles. Is competent and aware of engineering and quality standards Identify, analyze, and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment-related problems to continuously improve key business metrics Scope, order, and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment. Quote, develop processing standards, and assist in new product launches. Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the department. Direct cross-functional process improvement projects with the assistance of operations, maintenance, and controls team members Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners in areas such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, quality, etc. Implement cost-saving projects and special assignments as required. Conducts scheduled product audits, records results, and drives action to resolve issues highlighted during the audits Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in an applicable facet of engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) 3+ years of manufacturing experience in an engineering role (such as Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, etc.) Paint and/or powder coating experience preferred but not required. Skills and Abilities Strong mechanical knowledge and mechanical problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills Experience in a manufacturing environment with a good understanding of plant operations Solid decision-making and judgment skills Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks Who We Hire?
