Job Description:
GoldenWolf is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer, PE ?to provide full-time, on-site support as part of the Defense Health Agency Headquarters Engineering Operations team in San Antonio, TX. This role involves developing and executing complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute large, complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects, including crafting performance work statements (PWS), developing estimates, and participating as a technical advisor in source selection boards.
- Chair project execution and kick-off meetings, serve as Technical Representative, and perform Quality Assurance and Safety compliance visits.
- Conduct functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems through point-by-point verification of design, installation, functionality, and performance.
- Provide highly technical engineering advice on compliance and quality management for major building physical plant systems, including HVAC, water distribution, plumbing, medical gas, security and communications, building automation, and fire suppression systems.
- Support DHA Enterprise Water Treatment Management programs, collecting and validating program performance data and metrics for reporting.
- Assist Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in improving energy performance and water treatment effectiveness.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical reviews and supervision to ensure their development in fieldwork and compliance with engineering procedures and DHA policies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated minimum of five (5) years practical experience in the healthcare field. This practical experience must be recent, within the past six (6) months and span over the preceding three (3) out of four (4) years. Practical experience is defined as having the direct responsibility for execution of design, construction, major repair, or management of mechanical physical plant/infrastructure systems supporting institutional, industrial, or medical healthcare campuses.
- Demonstrated minimum of five (5) years of design and consulting experience .
- Multifaceted expert level skills and extensive practical experience in the mechanical trade discipline necessary to accurately analyze plans, data, designs, operations and maintenance practices and the management thereof.
- Possess those skills necessary to facilitate the development of estimates and makes recommendations for repairs, sustainment, and optimizations of building physical plant and infrastructure systems.
- Knowledgeable of local, municipal, and federal building codes, criteria, and standards.
- Have strong interpersonal, communicative, diplomatic, and analytical skills to provide highly professional quality presentations to executive leadership and large audiences.
- Current Registered Professional Engineering License in the field of mechanical engineering
