Director, R&D Project Management

The Director, R&D Project Management (possible locations:Frankfurt,Hassfurt/Germany or Nastola/Finland, or Getafe/Spain or USA) is responsible for the overall project management function for new Product Development. Providing leadership, managing and improving of project management processes and functions.
Providing transparent project status and managing communication across the organization. Identifying and managing actively risks with contingency plans and mitigating activities. Continuously improve OTIF of projects by encouraging organization to achieve goals on time, within budget and to expected quality criteria. This position supervises two teams of project managers.
In order to support Portfolio performance reports, this leader will partner closely with the Portfolio Managers to ensure project data and metrics are properly captured and that defined project management practices are followed. The Manager will also manage the development and evolution of project management policies and is responsible for the overall quality of processes and service delivery within the organization.
What will you do:
* Leads and prioritizes multiple individual and team projects to enable business strategy across all categories on Global level. Ensures the delivery of strategy feedback through key KPIs in the area of NA and EU. Defines concepts for individual project success criteria and objectives.
* Models our Uponor values and behaviors to engage diverse audiences and build high performing teams.
* Exercises judgement and makes decisions in partnership with key stakeholders within focused area on Global level.
* Manages project management budget on Global level ensuring cost effective tactics, while appropriately allocating resources based on functional priorities.
* Sets individual or team performance objectives that are aligned with the function strategy to drive high performance. Evaluates and measures performance consistent with the high performance standards set by the organization.
* Negotiates shared objectives with cross functional team members.
* Ensures technical review of system design and documentation.
* Development of guidelines for proper execution and documentation.
* Leading the Global R&D Project Management Office
What will you need:
* Bachelor of Science or Engineering from an accredited institution is required. Masters or MBA is preferred.
* Eight or more years of experience in an enterprise-sized PMO is required with experience managing projects or programs at a portfolio level.
* 10+ years of project management experience with medium and large projects is required.
* Ability to lead and manage cross-functional resources is required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
* Project or program management experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Five or more years of experience with using Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software tools is preferred.
* Ability to be a persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the leadership team and communicate project management and business analysis related concepts to a broad range of employees.
* Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI certification is desired, but not required.
