JOB SUMMARY

Marcus Thomas, an integrated marketing communications agency, is looking for an exceptionally talented Public Relations Account Executive to make a mark with our agency and clients. This professional will work with financial services, and home & garden clients.

The essential functions of the Public Relations Account Executive will include, but not be limited to, managing day-to-day public relations and social media executions for two agency clients while working closely with a diverse team of subject matter experts. Success in this role will require mastery of all of the skills and talents required to be a successful, well-rounded PR pro – critical thinking, superior and diverse writing skills, fanatical passion for and experience in social media and influencer marketing, knowledge of and appreciation for the public relations discipline, strong interpersonal communications skills, plus an ability to organize and manage details.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English or other related field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three to five years of experience in marketing and/or public relations, with a proven track record of success in traditional, digital and word-of-mouth campaigns.

REQUIREMENTS

Excellent writing skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and accurately for a variety audiences.

Experience in implementing social marketing initiatives for brands.

Demonstrated success in traditional media relations.

Sound strategic thinking – with an ability prioritize and align public relations and social marketing initiatives to support business goals.

Excellent communications skills that display you are an engaging and persuasive communicator.

A strong aptitude and curiosity for new and emerging digital trends; plus a desire to experiment with these trends, new ideas and technologies.

Must be creative, analytical and able to switch between both sides of the brain at a moment’s notice.

Knack for creating great working relationships and collaborating with team members and clients.

Solid organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Comfortable dealing with fluctuating priorities.

Confidence, integrity and professionalism that is necessary to represent the agency and its clients.

An absolute passion to produce great work, and an unbridled desire to make a mark on our clients, agency, community and industry by finding unexpected solutions, listening as passionately as you speak, and leaving everything you touch a little better than you found it.

A background in the consumer products, home and garden or consumer services category is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage execution of public relations, social media and influencer marketing initiatives for two primary clients; individual would own specific l work streams as part of a larger team.

Help with content creation, including concepting, completing a variety of short- and long-form writing assignments and working with creative partners.

Develop editorial ideas, pitch media and manage editorial relationships.

Manage client relationships on a daily basis as part of a larger client service team, including leading client status meetings, formal reporting, ongoing communications, written documentation and managing client budgets and timelines.

Maintain effective, timely and valuable client contact. Respond to questions/issues quickly, honestly and completely.

Orchestrate agency teams and resources, facilitating collaboration to deliver on client needs and strategic priorities.

Conduct social listening and editorial monitoring, analyzing results and preparing reports for the team and clients.

Monitor digital and other communications trends that impact our clients and their audiences, while appropriately applying that knowledge and proactively bringing ideas to the agency team.

Reside within the public relations community of practice, while working effectively and collaboratively with all agency disciplines.

Be a steward of the agency’s social media policy, which includes presenting an image consistent with the agency’s core values, while adhering to all FTC regulations.

Adhere to the latest legal/ethical considerations and best practices in relation to the implementation of social media, and share appropriately with agency and client teams.
