Responsibilities

Strong emphasis on mentoring of junior engineers and designers

Oversee the development of site civil engineering plans, reports and specifications for a multitude of land development projects

Civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site design/layout

Preparation and/or reviewing design criteria, drawings and specifications

Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation

Assist in the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents

Attending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues

Technical and design report writing

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design preferred

Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and StormCAD proficiency preferred

Attention to detail

Self-motivated

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field of study required

Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 2 year of experience)

8+ years of professional site/civil design engineering experience required

11+ years of site/civil design engineer experience with project management preferred

Experience with AutoCAD required

PE license required

Solid understanding of the typical land entitlement process in MA including permitting at the local and state level preferred
