EMR is country wide business with sites from Plymouth to Dundee and is looking for a dynamic and experienced People Partner to lead our employee relations approach and embed performance conversations across our UK business. As the People Partner, you will be accountable for effective case management and upskilling colleagues within the People Team and the wider EMR business. You'll act as a true business partner, ensuring performance management becomes an established, proactive, and effective management behaviour to drive overall capability and performance levels within EMR. Key Responsibilities: Performance Conversations: Embed performance discussions as a standard behaviour among managers, involving regular UK-wide travel for relationship building, coaching, and development. Performance Management: Be visible across EMR sites to coach, shape, and provide feedback on performance conversations, identifying poor performance hotspots and driving proactive remedial actions. Training and Coaching: Increase the business's capability in performance conversations through training, coaching, and implementing self-service support tools. Employee Relations (ER): Coordinate ER activities to ensure consistency and adherence to EMR’s procedures, including handling disciplinary/grievance cases, capability, sickness, protected conversations, TUPE, restructures, and T&Cs consultations. ER Capability: Advise and coach EMR’s People Advisors to enhance consistency and quality in case management, prioritising informal resolutions. Complex Cases: Manage complex and challenging ER cases to suitable resolution with minimal business disruption. Data Management: Manage ER KPIs, promote insight, and recommend continuous improvements, while ensuring proper storage of all employee relations paperwork. Union Engagement: Participate in union relationships and pay negotiations. Mediation: Champion mediation resolutions to rebuild constructive and healthy relationships. Partnering: Support business functions in collaboration with Senior People Partners and People Advisors. Key Deliverables: Establish performance management conversations as standard practice within the UK business. Provide effective case management advice and delivery. Implement remedial actions against key employee relations themes. Deliver consultations efficiently within agreed budgets and timelines. Report on KPIs to drive continuous improvement. About you: Experience/Qualifications/Skills: Expert knowledge of employment law with up-to-date knowledge. Conflict resolution skills. Level 5 CIPD (preferred) or equivalent professional HR qualification. Experience with senior leader stakeholders, influencing and impacting decision-making. Coaching and training experience in employee relations across all levels. Commercial awareness with the ability to deliver business-suited advice. Knowledge of current People issues and trends.
