Duties

* Oversees the school's breakfast and lunch programs.* Plans and prepares the school's breakfast and lunch menus according to the state's nutritional standards.* Supervises the overall safety and sanitation of the kitchen and cafeteria.* Assists in the hiring of kitchen staff.* Purchases food, supplies, kitchen equipment, and other items related to the school's food program.* Keeps informed of nutritional trends or concepts and on new developments in equipment that will improve the school's food program.* Assumes responsibility for all food service reports that are required by the Illinois State Board of Education, and the district.* Obtain bids from vendors for the procurement of food, equipment and services needed for the school's lunch program.* Assist with arranging for substitutes when food service personnel are absent.* Others duties as assigned by the administration.

Qualifications

Candidate must have, or be willing to obtain, a Manager Certified Food Handler Permit.

Salary/Benefits

Salary will range from $17-$19 an hour and will be based on education and experience. Full benefit package available.

Additional Notes

It is anticipated that the daily work schedule will vary from 6-8 hours a day. Contract will be for 9.5 months (candidate will report 1 week before the students and work one week after they leave for summer break).
