Hardware Engineering and R&D - Electrical Engineer 5
Candidate Location Requirements: Silicon Valley, CA, Santa Clara, CA
Skills Required:
• Years of Experience Required: 10+ years of experience
• Degrees or certifications required: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience required
• Disqualifiers: less than 12 months remaining on access clock will not be eligible for the role.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have experience with MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, Demonstrated experience in bringing new technologies to product, Experience performing bench level power measurements to validate battery life, Experience with charging and PD Controller, Experience running PDN and PI simulations such as Sigrity or Hyperlynx,
10+ years of experience of low voltage power design in consumer electronics or related fields, Experience performing bench level power measurements and validation including using logging tools or software scripts, Knowledge of the relationship between physical layout and electrical performance, Experience working with one of the following technology areas at least: audio, image processing, display, wireless, sensors
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for creating power models to estimate battery day of use, power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products ensuring their successful delivery.
• Generate design documentation, perform schematic capture and board layout review, prototype bring-up and design validation.
• Characterize power consumption, battery run time, battery charging/discharging curve. Collect power measurements for builds and drive power consumption optimization cross-functionally.
• Root-cause and solve technical issues during new product development and support in field escalations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as industrial design, architecture, product design, NPI, and supply chain.
• Evaluate and enable innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Work closely with CM/JDM resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required
1. Minimum 2 years experience with power charger or power circuit/battery experience
2. Minimum 2 years experience with battery vendors/conductor vendors engineer fundamentals, PCB
3. Minimum 2 years of experience with schematic capture, layout review, engineer fundamentlas, PCB
