Job DescriptionJob Description

The Principal Firmware/Hardware Engineer at Kardiogenics will play a critical and exclusive role in the full lifecycle of our hardware products. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated engineer to lead, design, develop, and oversee all aspects of firmware and hardware components for our medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete Ownership of Hardware Development: Design, develop, test, and optimize firmware and hardware components, being solely responsible for all hardware-related activities within the company.
  2. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align hardware development with organizational goals and product strategy.
  3. Compliance & Certification: Ensure all firmware and hardware designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, Military and lead the process for relevant certifications.
  4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation through research and application of cutting-edge technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
  5. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and external partners, ensuring quality and timely delivery of components.
  6. Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide guidance and technical leadership to other team members, fostering collaboration across departments.
  7. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, specifications, validation procedures, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in firmware and hardware engineering, preferably in the medical device industry. Experience with Military standards is plus.
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in embedded C/C++ programming.
    • Mastery of hardware design and simulation tools.
    • In-depth understanding of medical device regulations.
  4. Leadership & Ownership: Proven ability to lead complex projects independently, taking full ownership of all hardware development aspects.
  5. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Problem-Solving: Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
