We are looking for a dedicated Surgical Technician First Assist PRN like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:Provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Demonstrates knowledge and application of the surgical process in the peri-operative setting.Demonstrates knowledge and ability to assist surgeon at the surgical field.Demonstrates knowledge and application of the surgical process.Participates and cooperates in the unit based Quality Improvement processes.Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.Functions in collaboration with and at direction of the surgeon being assisted.Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients right to privacy by protecting confidential information.Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, qualify of care or the services delivered.Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.Regular, Punctual and dependable attendance.Other duties as assigned.What qualifications you will need:Graduated from a certified Scrub tech program or CSTFA programBCLS-AHA Healthcare Provider certification required at the time of hireCertification as CSTFAAcute care experience requiredMinimum 3 year previous experienceHCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
