Job Summary:
Our engineering design firm in Miami is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of commercial building construction or condominium building inspection experience, and (ASNT) Level II Thermography certificate (preferred). This role involves performing detailed electrical inspections, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards, and providing expert recommendations for design and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive electrical inspections of commercial and condominium buildings to ensure compliance with national and local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Identify potential hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues in electrical systems and components.
Prepare detailed inspection reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and necessary corrective actions.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to review and approve electrical designs and installations.
Provide expert advice and solutions to address complex electrical issues and improve system performance.
Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements.
Assist in the development and implementation of electrical inspection protocols and procedures.
Perform follow-up inspections to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented correctly.
Qualifications:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
Over 5 years of experience in electrical inspections of commercial or condominium buildings.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
A Level II Thermography certificate (ASNT)
Efficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Risa 3D, Solid Works, MS Office, electrical engineering design & analysis software;
Knowledge of electrical engineering design practices, including the NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), IEEE C2 (National Electrical Safety Code), and the International Building Code;
Proficiency in using inspection tools, software, and technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
HUGE BONUS: Specific design experience with interior & exterior lighting; power distribution systems including standby power generation, medium-voltage distribution switchgear, substations, and transformers; site systems distribution; and overhead and underground distribution.
Familiarity with building automation systems and smart building technologies.
Project management experience.
