Clinical Nurse I: C4/C3W: Infectious Disease/ Secure Unit at Albany Medical Center summary: The Clinical Nurse I is responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, and managing the care of patients in the Secure Unit, ensuring compassionate and competent care is delivered throughout their treatment. This role focuses on patient progress towards discharge and requires effective teamwork among the caregiving staff. Nurses may advance professionally through the Nursing Professional Advancement Pathway, gaining skills and responsibilities as they move from novice to expert status in their specialty. Department/Unit: Secure Unit - C3W Work Shift: Day (United States of America) The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/he assures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. Registered Professional Nurses that participate in the Nursing Professional Advancement Pathway (NPAP) must progress from novice to competent within a specialty. Nurses are eligible to apply for advancement to proficient or expert status as outlined in the NPAP.
