The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for planning and executing internal audits, assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of audit methodologies, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit Planning and Execution:

    • Plan and conduct risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, including operational, financial, and compliance audits.
    • Develop audit programs and procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
    • Perform detailed testing and analysis of processes, transactions, and controls to identify areas of improvement.
  2. Risk Assessment and Control Evaluation:

    • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
    • Identify potential risks, weaknesses, and areas for improvement within the organization.
    • Provide recommendations to enhance control environments and mitigate risks.
  3. Reporting and Communication:

    • Prepare clear and concise audit reports, summarizing audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
    • Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
    • Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
  4. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
    • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the organization's control environment.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and initiatives.
  5. Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:

    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks in internal auditing.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit function by identifying and implementing best practices.
    • Participate in special projects and investigations as required.
  6. Collaboration and Team Development:

    • Work collaboratively with other members of the internal audit team and cross-functional departments.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
    • Assist in the training and development of audit staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3years of progressive experience in internal auditing, public accounting, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
