Your Role

As the senior Leave and Accommodation Benefits Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the compliance and administration of our global leave of absence and accommodation programs and providing operational support to the Benefits team and foundation employees.

Core responsibilities will include being the first point of contact for LOA and accommodation program questions, processing LOA data within the HRIS and payroll systems, managing LOA third-party vendor, as well as performing and reporting utilization and cost analytics.

Your integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality in the handling of personal employee data is a critical part of this role. Your attention to detail and close collaboration with peers is imperative for success as we continuously seek opportunities to improve our operational efficiency and effectiveness.

What You'll Do
  • Administer and manage the leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, personal leaves, US state leaves and other international programs.
  • Monitor and track individual leave entitlements, durations, extensions, and return to work plans.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of leave cases in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Promptly and accurately respond to inquiries from employees and managers relating to LOA and accommodation guidelines, programs, and case status.
  • Identify and escalate complex or sensitive leave issues to the Benefits Director or legal counsel.
  • Monitor and update leave of absence policies, procedures, and forms in accordance with the latest laws and regulations, including US state and global compliance requirements.
  • Provide training and education to employees, managers, and HR partners on leave of absence and accommodation programs and best practices.
  • Employ advanced excel skills to analyze and report on trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Create, present, and implement process improvements that drive a more positive experience for employees and stakeholders.
  • Lead remote work LOA and time-off compliance project
  • Assist in other benefit projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in leave of absence administration, preferably in a large international organization.
  • Experienced knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to leave of absence, such as FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other types of leaves especially multi-state paid leave compliance requirements. Familiarity with international programs a plus.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, execution, coordination and organizational skills and ability to independently prioritize and multi-task to achieve results within a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to analyze and present data using advanced excel skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, HRIS systems, and other databases. Experience with Workday and Zendesk software is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills demonstrating diplomacy, discretion and good judgement when delivering information
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly collaborative and interpersonally effective; able to interact with individuals from varied backgrounds, communication styles, and positions internally and externally
  • Certification in leave of absence management, such as CLMS or CPDM, is preferred.

The salary range for this role is $112,500 to $168,800 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $125,000 to $187,500 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
