Aptitude for complex technical challenges and practical experience is key. Your days will consist of electrical avionics hardware design, development, test, and production support to enable an on-orbit propellant supply for the 21st century of space innovation. As an engineer at Orbit Fab, you'll exercise your practical problem solving for complex space systems. A strong candidate will call upon a breadth of experience developing systems under-budget and on time. Your aptitude for complex technical challenges and your practical experience designing/building/coding stuff will trump specific qualification or tools any day You bring years of knowledge and passion for the following disciplines to the team: Circuit Board Schematic Capture and Layout High Reliability Circuit Design and Analysis Considerations for Electronics Operating in Space Environments Space Systems Engineering (specifically, experience across both Big and Small space missions at a variety of institutions). RESPONSIBILITIES Define, review, and critique engineering processes. Technical decision-making processes and technical development across various space systems disciplines. Guide electrical engineering designs and facilitate technical trades across the system. Identify technical issues and proactively implement resolutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts. Design, test and fly electrical and avionics systems across Orbit Fab's projects Specific tasks may Include: Circuit/board design Board bring up Rapid prototyping for test Work with firmware engineers to co-develop microcontroller firmware EEE parts stress and derating analysis Hardware in the loop testing Electronics integration onto a payload Contribute technical knowledge around electrical engineering to other groups outside of Electrical Engineering Monitor and adhere to efficient program budgets, schedules, and resource plans. EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND CHARACTERISTICS: Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related discipline. 4+ years of experience in electronics design, development, or test across multiple projects/programs. Alternatively, several years of experience specifically on aerospace avionics or electrical engineering works too Experience taking a product from concept phase through prototyping, production, and operation. A familiarity and appreciation for the multiple spacecraft engineering disciplines, how they interact and what effects them, gained through participating or collaborating with them on engineering projects. Experience with key mission design, detailed analysis, and engineering management tools: Altium, LTSpice, JIRA or JIRA-like tools (Asana) and requirements tools like JAMA or Valispace.
