Description
SUMMARY:
The Broker and Enrollment Consultant is responsible for being the primary contact for outside independent employee benefits brokers and agents, who conduct business with Broker Source. Represent Broker Source as a professional and service-oriented company, contributing to its development and growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive incoming calls from individuals interested in individual health insurance as well as Medicare options for the senior market
- Educate customers on benefit plan options and the enrollment process
- Provide assistance to customers calling in with their enrollment and application completion by providing a thorough understanding of carrier options available to them
- Assist with Broker Source marketing events, as needed
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of carrier products, maintaining an accurate and current inventory of carrier marketing materials
- Input customer data/demographics accurately and proficiently into quoting and enrollment platform, maintain information in database systems
- Accurately answer questions, regarding Broker Source products and services
- Occasionally conduct outbound calls to clients looking for health insurance and needing service issues resolved, marketplace and carrier calls as needed
- Sell ancillary products alongside the health insurance options
- Promote Call Center enrollments and services to ensure prompt product enrollment
- Liaison between General Agency and carriers to obtain and maintain appointments for yourself and the agency
- Monitor and respond to emails from multiple mailboxes
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, with emphasis on courtesy and telephone etiquette
- Assist with new business installations and account management on the group side
- Review all activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
- Participate in job-related seminars and other training to maintain and develop effective knowledge and skills

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong working knowledge of carrier health benefit plans
- Excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environment
- Strong computer skills in MS Office 365 suite of products, with the ability to effectively utilize agency management systems and carrier internet system
- Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed
- Regular and punctual attendance is required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levels
- Ability to promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the Agency
- Ability to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality
- 2-4 Years previous employee benefits insurance experience preferred
- 4 Year degree in business or other position-related field preferred
- Possession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, required insurance licenses for the states of Kansas and Missouri
- Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities
- Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display
