Austin, TX
Type:
Full Time
About Neurophos:
Neurophos has spent 3 years in stealth R&D conceiving, modeling, & refining a technology platform that has the potential to '100x' key performance metrics in neural network computing, including in the exploding field of Large Language Models. Leveraging new physics field of metamaterials (which its founders are pioneers in), Neurophos is able to create spatial light modulators of unprecedented speed, density, and power-efficiency. Combing these Metasurfaces with more conventional optoelectronics unlocks a compute- in-memory optical computer that dramatically outperforms anything that exists today; and in fact, anything that trends project to exist for decades to come.
With the raising of the company’s first non-stealth funding round, Neurophos is growing its team and beginning to realize it's Optical Computing Platform.

Fabrication Development:
Collaborate with process engineers and fabrication partners to ensure successful manufacturability.
Research and Development:
Stay updated on the latest advancements in silicon photonics, and related technologies, and contribute to ongoing research and development efforts within the company.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in silicon photonics from conception to tape-out and packaging.
Solid understanding of silicon photonics principles, including waveguides, modulators, detectors, and passive components.
Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (Lumerical, Ansys tools such as Virtuoso, etc.), software development, and simulation, using languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
