Credit Coordinator

Vaco is currently seeking a detail-oriented Credit Balance Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. This role may lead to permanent employment for candidates who demonstrate strong performance. The primary responsibility of the Credit Balance Analyst is to review and analyze old credit balances related to patient and insurance accounts, ensuring accurate resolution and compliance with financial policies.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess old credit balances for patients and insurance accounts.
- Identify the source of credit balances, determining whether they resulted from patient overpayments or errors in insurance claim processing.
- Investigate discrepancies in benefit applications and claims, working closely with medical collections and health plan contracting teams.
- Issue refunds when applicable and adjust credit balances based on findings.
- Analyze contracted rates and fee schedules to ensure proper payments have been applied.
- Collaborate with collectors to address any issues related to patient responsibilities and billing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of investigations and resolutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience in medical collections and health plan contracting.
- Knowledge of eligibility verification processes and patient benefit assessments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial information accurately.
- Familiarity with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and insurance payment processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in billing, collections, or patient accounts management.
- Experience using Medtrac or similar tools for claims investigation.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
