The Engineering Manager for our Specialty Services team is responsible for all specialty engineering services that don't normally fall under the Campos standard service offerings. Specialty services may include mechanical stress analysis, thermal expansion, pulsation studies, vessel design, computational fluid dynamics, acoustics, and unique or one-off type projects. This role focuses on the continued development of technical excellence within this group, providing business development support to the various regions and workstreams, and supporting the Specialty Engineering team with their career pathing, training, and development.

This position can be based in any of our regional offices across the country and requires occasional travel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Technical Experience with large gas and/or oil facilities. Qualified candidates must have experience in one or more of the following categories: compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing, filtration/separation, CNG, LNG, measurement and regulation. In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, and possesses extensive field experience Ability to use 3D design tools and conduct FEA analysis using Caesar II, ANSYS, Simulation or an equivalent FEA software. Prepare and check engineering drawings. Create and build 2D or 3D models of pressure vessels or other components used for design or analysis using SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling tool. Prepare and check technical reporting and engineering calculations. Provide quality control assistance for regional design work, technical reports and engineering calculations. Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for managing the Specialty Engineering team as the group continues to evolve and expand in size and capability. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in technical matters and relevant software, including providing project support where necessary. Act as the Engineer of Record, as needed, to support various projects Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects, and systems. Develop functional relationships with the organization’s regional leadership to ensure that the regions are receiving the necessary engineering support. Ensure engineers are qualified, experienced, trained, and prepared to adequately support engineering needs on projects, proposals, and execution in the field as well as ensuring we have engineers with the right skills and experience supporting projects. Prepare specifications of major equipment, develop equipment bid packages, participate in technical equipment and commercial reviews, provide equipment bid recommendations, and provide equipment drawing reviews. Supervisory Responsibilities: Champions the company’s core values of Culture, Ethics, Performance, Compliance, Schedule Drive, Alignment to Client, and Employee Utilization. Oversees and manages a team of Engineering Leads and Engineers which are located in multiple Campos offices across the company. Provides technical leadership and guidance. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department.

Training, Development and Career Pathing Help support the Specialty Engineering team in the development of career pathing within their disciplines. Works with senior leadership to support the overall strategy for engineering training and development. Support the Specialty Engineering growth plan to identify current gaps and plan for their resolution. Process Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials. Maintains strong familiarity with Campos business processes Assists in quality control of specialty engineering deliverables company-wide. Assists in calculation calculator development and standardization company-wide. Business Development Support and review proposals, cost estimates, scheduling, and staffing requirements for projects. Assist senior leadership in assigning appropriate technical resources to support the regions during the development of proposals. Help build and grow business opportunities by supporting and maintaining existing client relationships and exploring new clients and workstreams. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Preferred to have management, business, and engineering management skills. Results-oriented with the ability to successfully balance competing business priorities. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Strong technical, supervisory, motivational and leadership skills. Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry and of engineering. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Minimum eight (8) years of industry-related experience Experience with large oil and/or gas facilities. Qualified candidates must have experience in one or more of the following categories: compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing, filtration/separation, CNG, LNG, measurement and regulation. Licensure as a Professional Engineer strongly preferred, or ability to obtain PE within first year of employment. Prior experience with solidworks or other relevant 3D design tools

Salary: 145-175k depending on experience
