PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As a Convention Setup Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily operations of conventions, meetings and banquets.You will be able to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and while providing excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Planning:

Collaborating with event planners to understand the layout and requirements of the event.

Coordination:

Organizing teams of workers to efficiently set up booths, stages, seating arrangements, signage, and other event components according to the provided plan.

Supervision:

Supervising staff during setup and breakdown, ensuring tasks are completed safely and according to schedule.

Problem-solving:

Addressing any issues that arise during setup, such as equipment malfunctions, layout adjustments, or last-minute changes.

Quality control:

Inspect the setup to ensure it meets quality standards and matches the event's specifications.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High school diploma or equivalent.

2 years of experience in set-up and tear-down functions and events in an arena or convention center type of environment.

Supervisory experience and the ability to instruct, organize and direct to improve the efficiency of the department.

Experience managing employees using a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Experience working in a similar resort setting.
