As a Behavioral Health Specialist reporting directly to the Residential Director, you will play a pivotal role in directly supporting adolescents and fostering communication with internal and external partners to enhance the overall wellbeing and daily operations of our residents. Professional development is encouraged, supported and included with the role.

Supervisory positions are available for applicants with relevant experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a supportive and therapeutic presence with youth

Embody facility commitment to trauma-informed care.

Utilize interventions appropriate to client, situation, and level of training

Provide basic crisis intervention and de-escalation with supervisor/clinical support as needed

Coordinate with treatment team to maintain awareness of client needs and challenges

Maintain documentation regarding client behavior on unit and significant incidents

Complete precaution logs and seek supervisor/clinical support as needed

Engage client in constructive, health promoting, and pro-social activities on unit

  • Flex as needed between unit support and supervisory duties
  • Support therapeutic interventions, including client 1-1s
  • Flex between shifts and weekends with mutual agreement

Required Skills/Abilities

Must be able to communicate using all means including but not limited to, in-person, phone, and computer.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written; ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner to individuals as all levels.

Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Skilled team player with ability to engage with coworkers across all departments.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Associates Degree & 2-3 years of experience in a behavioral health setting or a combination of relevant education and experience. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must undergo pre-employment screenings including a drug screen and BCI/FBI background check in timely fashion.

Must be 21 years old or older.

Pay range is $20 to $30 contingent on experience and work shift with full benefits and potential incentive bonuses.
