Description

Cash-Wa Distributing is searching for the right individual to be our next Night Shipping Supervisor. We are the largest family owned broad-line food distributor in the Midwest, serving customers in 11 states. This position leads our team of order selectors and reports to the Night Shipping Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the night shipping shift, ensuring that orders are selected, palletized and loaded onto trucks accurately and damage free.
  • Manage shift work flow based on staffing and case volume to ensure delivery routes depart on schedule.
  • Oversee initial safety training of all new employees; teach and implement safe lifting and loading techniques.
  • Complete safety observations of order selectors on a regular basis, ensuring all Safe Work Methods are being followed.
  • Follow up with new employees for weekly progress evaluations.
  • Be familiar with and verify that employees are following all GDP, GMP and HAACP regulations and guidelines for food safety/safe handling of food product.
  • Identify and recommend possible improvements to shift efficiency.
  • File Worker's Compensation claims; assist with/complete accident investigations.
  • Manage employee time cards.
  • Assist Shipping Manager with any necessary coaching/counseling or discipline of night shift employees.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of one year warehouse experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good computer skills, experience with Warehouse Management systems preferred.
  • Must be willing to work nights.
Essential Functions:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking while supervising/observing warehouse employees.
  • Occasionally sit for extended periods while completing paperwork or working on computer.
  • Constant use of sight, speech and hearing abilities necessary to communicate with employees, oversee warehouse activities, and safely move through warehouse environment with noise and moving equipment.
  • Occasionally lift/carry product from 10lb - 80lb short distances.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-temp environment -10F to 55F.
