POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for lay out, fit and fabricate steel metal components to assemble parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Perform Aluminum and MIG Steel Welding operations on a standard/repetitive line of steel products as well as custom/non-standard products following prescribed procedures.
- Place, fit and arrange appropriate parts in proper positions on welding fixture to ensure correct dimension tolerance.
- Must be able to adjust and regulate welding equipment to obtain best possible penetration, fill, weld quality, performance, and the appearance of products within prescribed standards.
- Perform first piece and in-process inspection on all work completed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to read work instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to read standard and metric rulers.
- Must have the ability to read tape measure, blue prints and schematics.
- Able to work overtime and weekends.
- Manual dexterity
- High school diploma or GED required with Vocational Training and/or Technical Education a plus.
- Two or more years of experience of Steel Welding preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; Reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and lift up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (weather/non-weather)
- Steel toe shoes are required for this position
