The Associate Patient Services Specialist works under the general supervision of the MGR PATIENT ACCESS/SCHEDULING, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verify insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility and provides quality customer service to internal and external customers.

The Senior Patient Services Specialist works under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Access, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verifies insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility; Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers.

Associate Patient Services Specialist:

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 months Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General office experience

Patient Services Specialist:

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years General office experience, which includes public interaction
  • 1 year Patient access experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience
  • Medical setting experience

Senior Patient Services Specialist:

Required Qualifications:

  • Courses in keyboarding and office practices
  • 2 years General office experience with public interaction
  • 3 years Patient access experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Courses in medical terminology
  • Upon hire: Epic Credentialing
  • Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience
  • Medical setting experience

Patient Services Specialist, Richland, WA, United States Min: $16.28, Max: $23.94

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
