The role

SoFi is driven by data It's an exciting time to join as we leverage data analytics, AI, and GenAI to build products and personalized experiences for our members. As Principal Product Manager, you will simplify and accelerate end-to-end data analysis and consumption experiences, focusing on democratizing data and making it accessible to all employees. You will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our data analytics capabilities, leveraging your AI and data science expertise to address product and business challenges in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

You will work closely with teams across the organization to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Your ability to collaborate, build consensus, and drive execution will be critical to delivering results. You will also identify emerging data trends, evaluate new technologies, and recommend enhancements to our data architecture, optimizing data pipelines, improving data quality, and enhancing data governance. As a Principal Product Manager at SoFi, you will shape the future of our data-driven ecosystem and work with a talented team to unlock the power of data and drive business growth.

What you'll do:
  • Work to deeply understand customer needs, product analytics, and Analytics/AI industry innovation to drive the product vision and strategy, maximizing business and customer impact.
  • Partner closely with senior management and analytics teams to define and align with stakeholders on vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and scientists to design and implement scalable, robust, and accurate data solutions
  • Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior product managers
  • Translate complex data use cases and stakeholder needs into clear product requirements documents, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance/quality criteria for new features and products.
  • Optimize internal processes and systems for data creation, management, and analytics.
  • Drive adoption of data products among partners through training, documentation, and change management initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and conduct comprehensive buy vs. build analysis to align with state-of-the-art solutions
  • Represent the company's data capabilities to external partners
What you'll need:
  • 7+ years of experience in product management leadership roles, preferably as a Product Manager working on data solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of data technologies, analytics, and industry trends; deep understanding of data integration, ELT processes, data modeling and querying techniques, and data pipeline creation and management.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and business growth through data products
  • Experience managing and/or developing product teams
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills to engage with stakeholders across the organization and translate complex technical concepts
  • Track record of fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement in data products
  • Experience in setting and tracking key performance indicators for data products
  • Ability to build consensus on strategic priorities and drive ongoing product development
  • Deep understanding of the data industry, including trends, tools, and best practices
Nice to have:
  • Experience with specific data tools, modern data stack and technologies (e.g., data warehousing, BI tools, machine learning platforms).
  • Domain expertise in relevant industries (e.g., finance, technology).
  • Experience leading and mentoring product teams.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLMs.


Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
