The RoleThe Operations Assistant is a crucial role at Meeting Street Schools - ensuring that our teachers, leaders, and parents have the tools they need to help our students get to and through college. This position will report to the Associate Director of Operations - Facilities. The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.ResponsibilitiesFacilities: Ensuring that work rooms are completely stocked for staff success in preparation for their dayTechnology: assisting the IT manager in needs specific to classroom technologyLogistics: Executing the actions needed to facilitate a smooth event. Including set up, break down and restocking items during eventsCommunication: Assisting the team with the distribution of information to classrooms for family communicationsSupports with other school duties including arrival and dismissal, front desk coverage, receiving and delivering supplies, and all other operational tasks as needed Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisorSkills and CharacateristicsA commitment to the mission of Meeting Street Schools, deep love of content, and an unwavering belief that all students can and will succeedHigh level of personal organization and planningTeam player: maturity, humility, strong work ethic, follow-through, high EQ, willingness to respond positively to feedback and a "whatever it takes" attitudeExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalFlexibility in dealing with a variety of situationsExperience handling confidential information Responds to requests for information in a timely mannerExercises clear judgment and integrity in decision-making; foresees the ripple effect of decisions, intended and unintended consequences; able to make kind and expedient decisions with the benefit of students at the forefront.Is aware of his/her own strengths and weaknesses; works relentlessly to improve upon weaknesses and strengths, proactively seeks feedback, is able to accept responsibility for failures and shows a balance of confidence and humility.Participates in all school-wide staff functions and events such as parenting workshops, report card conferences, back-to-school-nights, student outreach, professional development, etc. to build a positive school culture and a strong home-school partnership.Ability to kneel, sit, stand for long periods of timeEducational Background and Work ExperienceBachelor's Degree preferred or 1 year of work experience Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities across multiple teams of people with a meticulous attention to detailExperience working in a school environment is a plus, but not required$15 - $18 an hourThe hourly rate for this position is $15-$18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
