Description

WeldFit is currently experiencing growth and we are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with at least 3-5 years of experience. Although a degree is preferable it is not a requirement. The successful candidate will work well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines and conduct themselves in a professional manner. The potential candidate would preferably have experience working in a Manufacturing and or Oil and Gas setting. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for generating and reporting general ledgers, supporting senior accounting management in completing book keeping and accounting tasks, and responsible for account reconciliation balance sheets to name a few. Extensive working knowledge with GAAP, Excel, Pivot tables, and V-lookup is a must. It is preferred that the successful candidate have experience working with B.O.M., P.O.C., analysis work, job costing, and capital/fixed assets.
  • Administrative
    • Contacts department personnel, account representatives or other appropriate personnel regularly to resolve problems; keeps all parties informed and serves as a reference source; composes correspondence of technical nature pertaining to assignments.
  • Accounting
    • Supports senior accounting management in completing bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
    • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close and resolve any anomalies.
    • Review job costing, analyze margins and re-class costs as necessary
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Analyzes, investigates and corrects accounting entries as needed.
    • Assists in the timely collection of receivables.
    • Report past due customers - to upper management
    • Suggests improvements in processes to increase effectiveness of unit.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Examines records of amounts due and makes sure invoices are paid according to terms and discounts taken.
    • Supplies regular or written reports.
    • Suggests improvements in processes to increase effectiveness of unit.
    • Assist accounts payable record-keeping. Ensures expense coding, voucher preparation, and check issuance's are accomplished accurately and timely.
    • Verification of correct costs, quantities, and management approvals for vendor invoices.
  • General Ledger
    • Prepares or verifies and encodes journal entries or other transaction documents for accuracy. Approves transaction documents within designated limits.
    • Prepares a variety of straightforward special and recurring accounting-related reports, summaries, financial statements, statistical reports and reconciliation.
    • Maintains special logs or records and balances and reconciles internal accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation
    • Daily reconciliation of cash transactions
  • Cash Flow Forecast
    • Send to accounting management
  • Month End
    • Oversees month end close
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience Requirements:
    • 3+ years of accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment
    • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study (preferred but not required)
    • Knowledge and implementation of GAAP, Excel, Pivot Tables, and V-lookup
    • B.O.W. and P.O.C experience would be a plus
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with multi-department team.
    • Experience manipulating large databases.
    • Knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Strong time management skills
    • Works well under pressure and handling time sensitive deadlines
