PURPOSE : The Director, Network Scheduling is responsible for managing the team that oversees all aspects of the airline’s flight schedule including the creation, distribution, and modification of long, medium, and short-range schedules in the scheduled service network and for planned and ad-hoc charter flight schedules to maximize profitability. Candidate must be a highly analytical, motived self-starter, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively at the highest levels. RESPONSIBILITIES : Constantly monitor Avelo’s short, mid, and long-term planned flight schedules, and communicate necessary adjustments with effected leadership teams including charter sales, crew planning and operations prior to monthly close of schedules. Spearhead the ideation and development of Avelo’s Network Scheduling Program to maximize revenue capability of the network and balance cost and operational needs for aircraft, crew, and airports. Oversee and maintain a rolling forecast of operating statistics and network revenue to support regular senior management reports, Board of Directors Meetings, etc. Lead the preparation and development of Board materials and regular senior management reports. Monitor competitors airlines in terms of schedules, fleet, destinations, etc. and report on potential impacts to Avelo’s flight schedule of changes/actions necessitated by them. Plan, coordinate, and execute all changes to the flight schedule, including coordination of the impacts to customers with customer service team. Manage preparation and updating of planned operating statistics for rolling 12-month budget plan. REQUIREMENTS: 4-year degree in a highly quantitative field, including Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, etc. Minimum of five (5) years of airline or related experience. Leadership and management experience with strong ability to develop a team. Experience with flight scheduling systems (OASIS; Zulu; Sabre Schedule Manager; etc.) Strong familiarity with economic, operational, and financial impacts of adding, reducing, and/or changing flight schedules. Strong analytical ability, critical thinking skills, and communication skills – must be able to analyze numerous data points, synthesize the information, and provide clear, concise recommendations. Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to make effective decisions with limited or incomplete data. Must possess exceptional analytical and communication skills. Strong presentation skills with proven ability to deliver arguments clearly and confidently Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must be located in/near Houston or willing to relocate to Houston, TX. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
