The Berlin Business Office is seeking a U.S. Market Manager to join their team of international business development professionals in New York. About us:

The Berlin Business Office (BBO) presents and promotes the tech ecosystem of Germanys capital in the U.S. It works to deepen economic relations between the U.S. and Berlin by helping U.S. companies do business in Berlin and Berlin companies enter or expand in the U.S. The BBO is part of the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises.

Task and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and attract US companies and investors for Berlin
  • Support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups from Berlin to enter the US market
  • Expand the network of the Berlin Business Office into the different tech ecosystems across the U.S.
  • Identify industry specific business opportunities and networks while representing the Berlin Business Office at tech events, fairs, trade shows, and conferences throughout the U.S.
  • Conduct market research and provide market intelligence of the U.S. market
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with partners across the U.S.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and networks in different locations, embracing the diversity of perspectives.
  • Embrace the chance to travel to various locations for business development and networking, adding a global perspective to your role.
  • Organize networking and partnering events to strengthen connections between the U.S. and Berlin
  • Report directly to the Managing Director of the Berlin Business Office USA

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in business or related field
  • Proven experience in international business development, project and account management of 2+ years
  • Experience of the U.S. Market and in investor acquisition
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and companies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills verbal and written
  • Strong strategy development and presentation abilities
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets
  • A hands-on problem solver who thrives in dynamic and fase-paced environments
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm for travel and an understanding of the value it brings to relationship-building
  • Fluency and exceptional communication skills in English
  • German skills is a plus but not required
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other relevant business tools (MS Office, Webdesign etc.)
  • High competence in Social Media
  • Existing work authorization for the U.S.
