With production units in Europe, North-America and the worldwide SCHOTT sales organization Lighting and Imaging is a leading supplier for fiber optic components.Your Contribution Sets up and performs progressive machining on various types of machine tools to close tolerances, requiring care in tool setting and selection of machining methods. Sets up and operates conventional lathes of various sizes, ranging from light to heavy duty. Sets up and operates conventional horizontal and vertical milling machines. Sets up and operates standard machine shop/toolroom surface grinders and pedestal grinders. Sets up and operates standard machine shop/toolroom support equipment including belt sanders, drill presses, and sandblasters. Works on semi-production and production jobs requiring the manufacturing of multiple pieces. Takes measurements and marks material for cutting or shaping. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job. Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects. Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.Your Profile Minimum three (3) years' experience working with lathes. Ability to read blueprints and set-up own work. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and results oriented. Ability to work in a team oriented environment. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
