Job Description
Assists patients in obtaining the maximum level of independence in activities of daily living. Performs direct/indirect nursing procedures and technical/laboratory activities as appropriate and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
- * Administers nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Provides hygienic care to patients assigned and oversees/assists with activities of daily living; performs assigned treatments and procedures
- Takes vital signs of patients assigned and reports values to nurse in charge.
- Reports observations and unusual conditions of patients to registered nurse.
- Prepares patients for meals and helps feed them as assigned.
- Provides constant observation for patients requiring increased security to prevent harmful behavior.
- Follows principles of infection control and patient safety.
- Carefully assists patient to wheelchair or stretcher and transports, as needed.
- Collects required specimens as directed; e.g., urine, feces, sputum.
- * Maintains the environment of patients.
- Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment in patient's room
- Participates in ensuring that work areas are clean.
- Replenishes supplies as necessary.
- * Functions effectively within the organizational structure.
- Accepts assignment, seeks clarification as needed, and carries out assignment.
- Reports patient care observations and findings to RN regularly
- Participates as an integral part of the nursing team in assuming additional duties and responsibilities.
- Maintains competence by attending in-service education programs.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program, preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience, preferred.
