SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

The Project Engineer will be the internal Owner’s Engineer managing the engineering and engineering reviews for projects under construction. The Project Engineer will ensure that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the National Grid Renewables’ established policies and objectives while incorporating all functions related to safety, testing, repair, and maintenance of all equipment used within the owned assets.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Manage engineering projects with EPC Contractor from start to finish.

Work closely with EPC Engineering team through weekly design review meetings.

Manage Procore with EPC Engineering team, including Submittals, RFI’s, Transmittals, and Document Control.

Coordinate reviews with internal Engineering team (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Storage, SCADA, etc.)

Support the Procurement team through EPC RFP process, reviewing proposals, technical exhibits, etc.

Manage external Owner’s Engineering firm throughout the EPC process.

Participate in or lead business unit improvement initiatives.

Contribute to development and maintenance of design standards and criteria for project infrastructure.

Coordinate with Operations team to ensure project design meets Operations Standards/Specifications.

Provide technical support to plant operations as may be required for project infrastructure, facilities, and systems.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in renewable energy engineering and construction.

PV design engineering experience preferred.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Ability to understand technical documentation related to renewable energy projects such as interconnection agreements, facilities studies, permitting documents, local codes and regulations, civil and electrical construction specifications.

Proficiency using personal computer tools such as MS Office, Word, Excel, NetSuite, MS Project, Visio, AutoCad and other database managements systems.

Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
