Intake Specialist

  • Hours: Monday thru Friday - 8:30 am-5 pm
  • Pay Rate: $20-$22/hr

We have an exciting opportunity for you A not-for-profit family services company in Morris County, NJ, is seeking an Intake Specialist who is responsible for screening potential clients requesting services. The Intake Specialist determines whether each potential client meets the various eligibility criteria for our programs.

Job Summary:

Reporting to Assistant Executive Director. The Program Intake Specialist is responsible for screening potential clients requesting services. The Intake Specialist determines whether each potential client meets the various eligibility criteria for our programs. Additionally the Program Specialist/Intake & Referral implements the agency-wide intake and referral system, which admits individuals into agency programs and services. The Intake Specialist also provides referrals and connects clients with community resources. They participate in outreach activities, collect data, and work collaboratively with the Assistant Executive Director to carry out tasks and strategic goals, to ensure our programs and services are known in our community.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a professional/adult rapport to achieve a positive environment of mutual respect and regard.
  • Reflect the agency's mission and values in professional style & personal actions
  • Receiving and calling potential clients, supporting them with the intake process which can include paperwork, faxing releases, support with scheduling
  • Provide information about agency services/programs and other relevant resources to consumers, staff, and/or families as requested.
  • Develop, maintain, and update a comprehensive resource directory of services available to consumers, families, and staff.
  • Coordinate the intake process from initial referral to completion; prepare and maintain required documentation pertaining to intake and referral.
  • Maintain documentation reflecting all movements, including admissions, transfers, and discharges of consumers, and maintenance of waiting lists.
  • Prepare and submit to the Assistant Executive Director written statistical reports reflecting intake and referral activities, skill training, and other activities as requested.
  • Maintain updated data reflecting vacancies in all programs and services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of support groups.
  • Coordinate and develop outreach activities and marketing efforts to ensure program vacancies are filled.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with agency staff, professionals, and families to ensure quality support is provided.
  • Cooperate with the licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigation.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Assistant Executive Director.
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Human Services Field and one year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or two years' experience working with adults with developmental disabilities with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize work effectively and adjust to multiple demands.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • Must be patient, compassionate, and understanding.


Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $22.00 Per Hour
