Description

Job Summary:

A CellSite Solutions Crane Rigger is responsible for using cranes and riggers to lift and transport large and heavy loads, such as telecommunication shelters and equipment. They must be able to do so without damaging property or personnel. This position is the face of our company and provides support to the drivers, crane operators, and crews, providing deliverables to our customers at a high standard to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assembles and installs supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear according to company and federal rules and requirements.
  • Attaches load using appropriate cables, pulleys, cinches, blocks, and sheaves to rigging to provide support or prepare for moving using hand and power tools.
  • Connects pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps.
  • Cleans and dresses machines, surfaces, and parts.
  • Controls movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
  • Dismantles, maintains, and stores rigging equipment.
  • Manipulates rigging lines and hoists to move or support materials, steel, concrete, etc.
  • Select gear, shackles, and cables according to load size, facilities, and work schedule.
  • Signals or gives verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
  • Tests rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting or lifting.
  • Assist with site access, including the use of hand tools, tree trimming, ground/dirt work, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to travel frequently across the countryside to customer sites.
  • Ability to make quick load calculations is necessary for each load, and engineering principles are always in play.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact politely and professionally with customers and staff.
  • Ability to operate under strict quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies.
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft and smartphones/tablets for timekeeping, electronic logging devices, email, and documentation.
  • Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
  • Rigger certification required.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's license is a plus or the ability to secure a CDL.

This position is Hourly, Non-Exempt, and eligible for overtime. Nationwide travel is required. Salary Description

$20 - $26 per hour
