The Bankruptcy & Legal Account Specialist will: Be responsible for managing accounts that are in bankruptcy or subject to legal actions. This position involves handling all aspects of bankruptcy filings, legal collections, and coordinating with attorneys and third-party agencies. The specialist will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work closely with the Asset Recovery Manager to develop and implement effective recovery strategies. What you will do: As a Bankruptcy & Legal Account Specialist , your primary responsibilities will include: Monitor and manage all accounts in bankruptcy status. Handle all aspects of bankruptcy filings, including proof of claims, reaffirmations, and monitoring payment plans. Communicate with bankruptcy trustees, attorneys, and court personnel as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all bankruptcy-related activities. Manage accounts that require legal action to recover debts. Coordinate with attorneys to initiate and follow through on legal proceedings. Place accounts with third-party collection agencies and attorneys for legal recovery. Prepare and present detailed reports on bankruptcy and legal account performance and metrics. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving recovery rates. Utilize reporting tools and software to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Communicate with members as needed regarding their bankruptcy and legal account status. Provide guidance and support to internal staff navigating the bankruptcy process. Approach member interactions with understanding and empathy, balancing firmness with a supportive tone.
