Descriptive Summary

As a Flooring Materials Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and procuring flooring materials for construction and renovation projects. Your role involves researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of materials. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to meet project requirements and budgets.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers of flooring materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, product quality, pricing, and delivery terms to determine suitability for partnership.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements for ILG.
  • Manage relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring performance and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and technological advancements to identify new sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, sales, and project management teams, to understand sourcing needs and develop strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and product specifications.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Stay informed about environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives related to flooring materials and suppliers.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a sourcing specialist, procurement officer, or similar role, preferably within the construction or home improvement industry.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with procurement software or ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods, and industry standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and regulations related to sourcing is a plus.
