THE ROLE

In this role, you will develop key corporate messaging for The MLC with external and internal stakeholders.

This role will execute strategies to achieve organizational goals with diverse groups including Members, DSPs, policy makers and a variety of influential partners. You will ensure that all communications are aligned with The MLC's mission, vision and strategic objectives.

As an integral member of the Marketing Team, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of an organization that is changing the game in the music industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all channels.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in a related field, music industry experience is strongly preferred.
•Minimum 7 years related experience.
•Experienced in developing & implementing communications plans that drive business goals.
•Effective with tact & diplomacy and persuasion writing skills.
•Experience turning complex material, including legal and technical content, into clear and engaging written narratives. Ability to align tactical execution with strategic directions.
•Work long hours when necessary to align with changing priorities and/or supporting crisis plans.
•Strong prioritization, project management & organization skills.
•Expertise in AP style rules and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

YOU SUPPORT COMMUNICATION NEEDS OF THE MLC BY:
•Developing messaging with stakeholders; ensuring all company content aligns with company voice and style.
•Creating and coordinating written communications efforts for The MLC that results in high engagement.
•Ensuring that written communications are clear and promote The MLC while elevating the mission. Written content must comply with legal, regulatory, & company standards.
•Creating unique written communication that includes nuanced corporate and technical communications for a variety of audiences.
•Providing expertise to create understandable writing with legal & technical details while respecting the sensitivities within the industry.
•Managing processes for technical written content for The MLC, including annual reports, website content, government reports, annual royalty recaps, talking points, newsletters, Member communications, articles, and other communications assets; including production and managing deliverables of vendors (photographers, etc.).

YOU WILL DEVELOP STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH STAKEHOLDERS FOR THE MLC BY:
•Working closely with team members to edit other written materials including blog posts, press materials, ad copy, decks, etc.
•Serving as the primary contact for corporate writing.
•Monitoring industry trends and news to incorporate relevant information into corporate communications.
•Collaborating with the marketing and design teams to create compelling multimedia content aligned with strategies.
•As needed, managing crisis communication plans and providing timely, clear communication during emergencies.
•Taking initiative to resolve issues in innovative ways.
•Ensuring all written content complies with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
